Going Upstream in Los Angeles
Please join us for a Zoom conversation on April 16, 2021 at 1pm bringing together health practitioners who suspect that Los Angeles itself is our main patient. The way we live and the way we get around is not part of the usual diagnostic manuals, but it has a massive impact on the lives of our patients.
The aim of this meeting is to find a path for medical experts to participate in the local Community Plan, which determines many of the upstream factors that we encounter in the consulting room. The focus of the meeting is to hear from you and to find a path for the voice of concerned medical stakeholders to shape a treatment plan that is crucial for the health and sustainability of our communities

The discussion will also include brief remarks from Dr. Stephanie Pincetl (Professor at the UCLA Institute of the Environment and Sustainability and founding director of the California Center for Sustainable Communities at UCLA), Dr. Michael Cahn (transportation scholar and secretary of the UCLA Bicycle Academy), and other experts on the intersections of urban planning and community health.
